"WHO?"

is a video project which shows my intention to reveal the problem or phenomenon that people can or cannot aware in daily life.

"Who do you think the murderer is?" It's a reasoning game for audiences to think about the answer. Before revealing the ending, try to relax and play the game.

"Do not make any assumptions."

I never said I was giving you the whole story.
This video is made from the idea of preconceived notion that I aware in my daily life, especially during time staying in the UK. At first, I thought every weird reaction or phenomenon from people were only caused by culture differences.

However, here comes a very interesting experience of my friend. She is Jessy, who married to a British husband and just graduated from Master. She was looking for a job. At first, she used her Chinese family name "Lee" as her surname on the CV and sent it to 12 different companies. Few days after, she got replies from three companies to ask her to have an interview, but none of them was her first option. At this moment, she decided to make an experiment - she resent her CV to all 12 job offers again by using her husband's surname "Jones". Something amazing happened afterwards, she then got appointments from 10 positions, which was three times more than the last CV, although they were basically the same except surname.

From this real experience of my friend trying to get a job in the UK, I truly believed the preconceived notion that is not fair at all exists. In addition, there were some personal ideas from my past experiences, I feel like it is a very serious and essential topic for everyone but not just foreigners, which is the main reason why I made such video.

There were several important elements in this video.

1. FILTER, which showed that assumptions were made before people actually starting to know something truly, and I never said I was giving you the whole story.

2. MURDERER, from your reasoning, who was the one?

3. AUDIENCE, who revealed the major opinions from the society, and you were the helper of the murderer to hide his real identity.

4. BLACK SCENES, reflection from several parts, black screen scenes, showed the audiences themselves' face, which was a symbol of that everyone was the same as a murderer once you started to have assumptions to other people.
